The belief that God sends an angel to watch every individual was common in Ancient Greek Philosophy. Similarly, the belief appears in the Old Testament, although it is not specifically articulated. The guardian angel is thought to be just that, a guardian. The belief is that everyone has guiding spirits and they are often relatives who have risen to a high spiritual level in the beyond.

Angels in dreams are the personification of a divine idea that has occurred to us. Angels are known to appear in our dreams when we are examining our attitudes, and indicate that we need to also examine our motivations. The Angel is a messenger. When we take the time to trust and soul-search, they will lead us to new insights and new directions. Dream appearances of Angels also indicate a strong desire of harmony, guidance, strength, friendship and emotional connection.

About 20 years ago a South African Lorraine Marinkowitz started experimenting in the production of Raku beads. Influenced by the natural beauty of the wild life in South Africa she expanded her creative talents to producing animals and birds. Color also plays a large role in African life, the Ndebele tribe paint their houses in geometric shapes with bright colors. Although the manufacturing process lends it's self to earth tones only, Lorraine developed a technique to achieve bright geometric shapes which completes the connection between the wild life and it's people. Her wonderful pieces are known as Raku Art and are treasured by collectors through the world.
